Welcome to our concluding article in the Exploring Your Options for the Afterlife series. Previously, we shared insights with you on the purpose of life, the understanding and overcoming of the fear of so-called death, the various levels of consciousness in the next world, and some of the fascinating experiences you may have in the heaven world! In this article, we will tie it all together by offering practical advice and practices to help you reach your highest ideals in this world and the next!

Do you remember the description and purpose of the cosmic mirror in part 3 of this series?
Imagine watching a 3D movie of your life in the next world as part of a life review – one where you will experience full awareness of your every thought, feeling, motive, and action. Though this experience may sound daunting at first, you will have much divine guidance and loving support every step of the way!

I believe everyone wants their life’s movie to be a box office hit—a story of their soul overcoming challenges, achieving growth, and experiencing triumphs
You are not just a passive participant in this story either – you are the producer, director, and star of your own life. And to help you create your story, we offer “Seven for the Soul” – a series of practical, yet transformative steps for all who aspire to someday reach the highest levels possible in the heaven world!
Seven for the Soul
• Cultivate balance in every aspect of your life
• Make the most of your time
• Contribute selflessly to the well-being of others
• Balance karma by transforming negative energy into positive energy
• Embrace self-awareness and soul resolution
• Discover your purpose and fulfill it with passion and commitment
• Give violet flame regularly to create and amplify positive energy
Cultivate balance in every aspect of your life

We should all strive to seek balance in every area of our lives – physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Imbalance in any one of these can delay soul progress.
Spiritual progress requires balance and harmony across all areas, not just spiritual devotion alone. It is also important to avoid “Spiritual escapism”, the neglect of daily responsibilities, or overemphasis on devotion without grounding. Balance is practiced by living spirituality in daily life, not withdrawing from it!
In the classic movie The Karate Kid, Mr. Miyagi shares a brief but profound insight about balance with his young apprentice Daniel:
Make the most of your time
Years ago, I remember playing dominoes with my grandfather. It was late at night and he suddenly looked at me and said very earnestly: “Time waits on no man.” It wasn’t long thereafter, that his earthly health began to decline until one day he was completely in heaven.
Time is our most precious resource and as Benjamin Franklin once said: “You may delay, but time will not.”
My spouse and I have reached a place in our lives where we no longer have to answer to an alarm clock every day. We are empty nesters and relatively secure financially. In reflective moments, I often share that my greatest desire now is the gift of time (and health). And one of my primary goals now is to become better at everything on the “Seven for the Soul” list!
Here are some recommendations to help you make the most of time:

• Maintain a healthy lifestyle including a balanced diet, exercise, breathing fresh air, etc.
• Prioritize what truly matters
• Don’t let distractions keep you from your potential

In parts 2 and 3 of Exploring Your Options for the Afterlife we referenced the book Messages from Heaven [1]. It chronicles the experiences of a soul who passed on from this world and for a time was given special opportunity to continue communicating with some close family members here on Earth. Following is an excerpt from the book which describes what this soul experienced and shared from the etheric plane or heaven world regarding the use of time:
“…A helpful exercise for each of you would be to run the films clips of your life, so to speak, and begin to look at how you have been utilizing the hours of your life. Notice the progress you have made. Perhaps you are a totally different person than you were ten years ago. That counts for much in heaven.”
“Another helpful exercise would be to stop at the end of each day for at least one week and assess where your energy and time has gone:
“How much time was spent in gossip?
“How much time was spent being annoyed or hurt?
“How much time was spent learning?
“How much time was spent watching TV?
“How much time was spent in idle conversation?
“How much time was spent helping others?
“How much time was spent in prayer?
“How much time was spent without meaning and purpose?
“How much time was spent on your job?
“Patterns will emerge and, if you are honest with yourself, an improved use of time can be established.”
Contribute selflessly to the well-being of others

Did you know you can create positive karma through selfless service to life? Your service can be very ordinary in the eyes of the world and that’s just fine – the point of true service is to uplift all whom you meet. Our goal should always be to love to serve and serve to love!
And our friend from the Messages from Heaven book has something to say about service too:
“I can’t emphasize enough the importance of service – helping others. Service that is given from the heart is the equivalent of money in heaven! I am so grateful for every time I helped someone…
It helps you tremendously to have served life. Service transforms the server. Purely motivated service is like light… People should look for ways to serve and not ways to be served.”
Ultimately, getting to the heaven-world really doesn’t have to do with what your religious doctrine is. You can belong to any religion or none. What it has to do with is how much you have loved. One gets to heaven by the expression of love toward life that is a pure love – a love that is not controlling, not deceptive, but simply desires to help others achieve their oneness with God.
Balance karma by transforming negative energy into positive energy

Every action has a reaction or consequence so it is important to be mindful of what we think, say, and do in this world. Negative karma is the greatest detractor from being able to go higher in the afterlife. You have to be lighter, as if you were going up in a balloon. You can’t have a lot of ballast!
Oftentimes, it is much easier to balance karma while on earth and sometimes we have to clean up our mistakes where we first made them. A little sacrifice here, coupled with self-discipline, determination, and sometimes doing what we have to do rather than what we’d like to do will give us tremendous options in the next world.
Further, in Messages from Heaven we are reminded that:
“…everything happens for a reason. There are no coincidences. Therefore, if a difficult person enters your life, do not spend your time condemning him, but rather ask yourself, ‘What can I learn from this person? What would it take for me not to lose my harmony over this person? This does not mean that you condone the person’s actions, but it does mean that you are alert to the possible test.
I did not always see the test when I was in embodiment, and I would get annoyed with various individuals. But my salvation was that I never held a grudge or spent hours of my life focusing on one person’s treatment of me.”
Embrace self-awareness and soul resolution

Soul resolution comes from understanding and healing your past. It is the foundation for personal growth and spiritual evolution. Therefore, it is important to identify and work through your emotional and mental blocks while striving to heal past wounds and clear limiting beliefs.
One way to achieve soul resolution is to begin to strive to clean up your thoughts and feelings. If you read books and other materials about those who have had near-death experiences (NDEs), they tell us that our thoughts are transparent in the next world and therefore known to all whom we encounter. This means we won’t be able to think one way and act another!
This has really helped me to understand that I must genuinely develop thoughts and feelings which are less judgmental and free of criticism towards others if I want to make real progress in this and the next world.
Our aspiring soul from Messages from Heaven offers additional insight for working out our psychology, the role of forgiveness, and dealing with unworthiness.
How do you work out your psychology on the other side?
“It is much harder here. We can see everything, but we are dependent on situations that will allow us to work things out. When you are in embodiment, you have constant opportunities to change - to select the higher path, to address your psychology. And yet many remain blinded to their bad habits, as I did.
On this side, we must pray for opportunities of service that will allow us to transcend these momentums.
We are accountable to wrestle with our emotions and to come into harmony concerning the events and choices of this lifetime. If we do this, God in his infinite mercy will help us transmute patterns from past lives that we do not remember or understand in our outer consciousness.”
The role of forgiveness
“…The lack of it closes doors to spiritual advancement. When you understand how elegant the cosmic justice system is, you realize that all do and will account for their deeds.
Ours is to forgive and not to judge. You are forgiving the soul of another so as not to hold back that one’s growth or your own. You are not condoning the action. If you cannot forgive, you must realize that you are creating a point of vulnerability in your psychology and you should pray fervently for a change of heart.
Ask yourself, ‘Is there anyone that I’m allowing to keep me from my spiritual progress because I cannot forgive them?”
What about unworthiness?
“Unworthiness that will not go away has usually been present for more than one lifetime. We have all performed acts that were not worthy of God or we would not still be in embodiment. Some people fear being whole. If they truly let go of their sense of unworthiness, they would have to acknowledge their wholeness in Christ.
Unworthiness creates a tremendous block between the individual and the fulfillment of his divine plan. Trust that you will be given opportunities to work out any violation of God’s laws. You do not need to impose a life sentence on yourself.
Try repeating this mantra for several weeks: ‘Christ in me is worthy.’
We cannot judge ourselves or others; this is God’s alone to do. Wherever you are today, go forward. Do not keep staying in the past. If you cannot free yourself, seek spiritual guidance or counseling.
You are the parent of your soul. You are limiting your soul when you say, ‘Nothing you do – no matter how many decrees, right actions or acts of kindness you perform – will make you worthy in my eyes.’ A sense of unworthiness can lead to a false idolatry of others because you are unwilling to acknowledge your own worth.”
In summary,
“Do not get stuck in self-reproach. Make each day count toward the new directions that you want to take. Extra points are given for lessons you have genuinely learned and tests you have passed, even if not on the first try.”
Discover your purpose and fulfill it with passion and commitment
I wasn’t one of the ones whose professional career path aligned neatly with my true passion or purpose.

Early on in my career, I asked my dad for advice on this and he told me: “Use your everyday job to pay your bills, and find what truly interests you—pursue it for free if you have to.”
I followed my dad’s guidance for many years, and it led to many valuable and rewarding experiences. I hope one day to thank my dad in the heaven world for providing me with such valuable insight.
More recently, a young woman who is part of our team here at Violet Flame World, has to occasionally remind me that developing these blog posts and other violet flame content is a “passion project” and not a job. She’s right!
Life can be so meaningful when you know or discover your true calling. Your purpose is unique to you so be sure to take ample time to reflect, explore, and listen to your inner guidance. And as you begin to discover your true purpose, you can indeed begin to fulfill it with passion and commitment.
Give violet flame regularly to create and amplify positive energy

The violet flame is the secret ingredient in life’s recipe! And just as eggs and flour are essential to cooking, the violet flame can be seamlessly woven into every transformative step outlined in “Seven for the Soul."
In our final excerpt from Messages from Heaven our soul friend offers some profound insight and understanding regarding the violet flame:
“If I discovered the violet flame and was thinking as an entrepreneur, it would be the equivalent of finding a marketable fountain of youth.
As you know, I did not understand the violet flame while I was in embodiment. This is one of my greatest regrets as I look back on my life. The violet flame is perhaps the greatest dispensation that you have been given, yet many take it for granted.
The violet flame is what Jesus used in many of his miracles. Purple has been thought to be both a royal and holy color; adepts of all ages have known of its power. If you have an illness, the violet flame can reverse the entire condition, unless the illness is a karmic necessity for your spiritual evolution.
The Masters [2] believe in seeking the consultation of a doctor. It may be a person’s karma to go through treatment, including surgery and medication. The violet flame can assist in the speed of recovery and the success of any procedure.
The violet flame is the foundation for the New Age. We will enter this age successfully only to the degree that we comprehend and utilize this flame.”
Preparing for Graduation – Putting the Violet Flame into Practice
How fortunate we are to have the opportunity to give the violet flame while we are still here on Earth where we can spend precious moments directing it into the distant past and future of our soul’s evolution!

The violet flame can be given and experienced in many ways including through mantra, decree, music, and meditation. Following are just a sample of some of these practices to assist you on your personal, heavenly journey.

The violet flame is invaluable in changing negative energy into positive energy. Positive energy rises into your causal body and after the balance of light in your being becomes greater in heaven than on earth your soul can rise into the heart of the I AM THAT I AM, in the heart of God’s Presence, in what is called the ascension.

The spiritual path is ultimately the path of the ascension. The ascension simply means you have passed your tests and are now qualified to graduate with honors from the schoolroom called Earth. And when you ascend, it’s not an end but a beginning, because after the ascension you have the freedom to move through other dimensions and to learn, love, and create as never before! [3]
Until next time…

“All that seems so real (I know it did to me) – the opinions of others,
the recognition of others, worldly success and comfort – is worth nothing here.
You are measured by your heart and the degree to which you have
advanced in compassion, wisdom and the use of God’s power.”
