- The Wizard of Oz – a Spiritual Adventure. Part 1 – Over the Rainbow
I remember one of my English professors in college telling the class about the story of The Wizard of Oz. He said some researchers believed it was a story symbolizing the politics of the day including the pros and cons of a gold and silver standard in the American economy. Indeed, “follow the yellow brick road” and “oz” were believed to reference gold. And in the book, Dorothy’s slippers were made of silver rather than rubies. In this blog post series on the Wizard of Oz - a Spiritual Adventure, I would like to propose that The Wizard of Oz is also a spiritual story which, regardless of your chosen religion or belief system, parallels the spiritual journey we all share. Join with me as I share one seeker’s perspective with you! The story begins with Dorothy (i.e. the soul), an ordinary farm girl from Kansas. Like most of us, Dorothy’s life is a series of experiences with family and friends along with a combination of other personal challenges and adventures. Throughout these experiences, Dorothy senses there is more to life - an ideal or place which lies “somewhere over the rainbow”. Click below to watch Dorothy sing about this ideal from the endearing movie The Wizard of Oz: In the video, Dorothy sings: Somewhere over the rainbow Way up high There's a land that I heard of Once in a lullaby Somewhere over the rainbow Skies are blue And the dreams that you dare to dream Really do come true Somewhere over the rainbow Bluebirds fly Birds fly over the rainbow Why then, oh why can't I? If happy little bluebirds fly Beyond the rainbow Why, oh why can't I? So what might this rainbow be which Dorothy sings about and where can we find it? For starters, let’s take a look at the beautiful picture below. It illustrates you and your relationship to God. In reality, this picture is the only “selfie” you will ever need! For now, let’s focus on the rainbow-colored spheres in this illustration which in esoteric literature is often referred to as the causal body. I believe when Dorothy sings the song “Over the Rainbow” she is expressing a memory or longing to return to her original home which is her casual body. Each of us has a casual body. It is made up of beautiful concentric spheres of pulsating light and is scintillating with the unlimited potential of Spirit. Your causal body is entirely unique because it is composed of the energies you have personally set in motion in all your lifetimes. Each of these seven beautiful spheres denotes a different aspect of higher consciousness that your soul has dwelled upon and become, somewhere and sometime in her evolution. The pure colors of the causal body reflect the pure colors of the seven chakras, because any energy that has been properly qualified (i.e. expressed) in any of your seven chakras immediately rises to your casual body. Everything good that you do – or have ever done – in pure love, peace, and harmony rises to your causal body. As you use the violet flame to transmute (i.e. change) negative karma, that energy automatically goes there as well. The violet flame, the ultimate self-help tool, can transform your past and your present which in turn can favorably impact your future! The violet flame is explained and illustrated throughout this and other blog posts at Violet Flame World including our Violet Flame Resources page. You are continually building your causal body in heaven, and its light is always increasing. You might call this your cosmic bank account, your personal treasure stored up in heaven. When you tap into the energy in your casual body, it is released to you as blessing, bounty, wisdom, light, love, and direction. Everything you do in your profession, your home, and your entire life determines how you are building that casual body. It doesn’t matter what kind of work you do. It matters that you do it with love and a heart of peace. And as you develop mastery on one of the seven rays through your work and service, the corresponding sphere of your causal body will increase. I remember when growing up that painting came naturally to my brother. He sold several of his works while I could hardly draw a “stick figure”. Conversely, playing piano came naturally to me and I did not have to practice nearly as often or as hard while my brother struggled and stopped playing much earlier in life. Oftentimes our greatest mastery is in something we have done for many lifetimes. We have built a momentum in the way we have chosen to use our energies, and this often affects why we choose one profession over another or why we have talents in one area or another. The understanding of the causal body helps us make sense of differences between people and even helps explain child prodigies and the amazing talents they exhibit at very young ages. In part 2 of this Wizard of Oz - a Spiritual Adventure series we will look further into how Dorothy puts her own “rainbow” or casual body to use when she leaves her home in Kansas and begins her journey in the Land of Oz. In conclusion, we leave you with an inspirational rendition of the song Over the Rainbow which you can watch and celebrate your discovery (or rediscovery) of your casual body! Until next time... - The Bliss of Forgiveness - finding Forgiveness with the Violet Flame!
Have you ever heard the expression “Keep your friends close and your enemies closer”? Typically, you might think this of this expression in a wartime, political, business or some other high-stakes life drama. For me, I discovered one weekend years ago I was unknowingly participating in a similar drama – one where I had good friends close (i.e., good karma) but an “enemy” (i.e., bad karma) even closer. The Flower Exercise The story begins with me agreeing to help host and be part of a weekend seminar. A large number of people were in attendance including good friends, others I did not know, and my “enemy”. My role in the seminar was to welcome people to the weekend, assist with their needs, help with music, and participate when the opportunity allowed. Near the end of the seminar, one of the workshop presenters invited all attendees to participate in a “flower exercise”. The presenter had just been telling everyone about Kuan Yin – a heavenly being known for her qualities of forgiveness, mercy, and compassion. We also learned the orchid was a flower associated with Kuan Yin and that she works closely with us through the use of the violet flame. The presenter had many orchids brought into the room and invited each participant to come up one at a time and choose an orchid. Once everyone had an orchid, they could choose another person in the room to give it to. The exercise was to continue until everyone felt like they had interacted with everyone else they felt called to. My assignment during this exercise was to lower the lights, play reflective music, etc. To be honest, I was grateful because I felt it was all a little too “touchy-feely” and did not want to participate. I also noticed that at first the exercise was like a high-school dance where all the popular kids are asked to dance (i.e., receive a flower) while the less-popular ones observe quietly from the sidelines. As fate would have it, the presenter came and invited me to participate in the exercise. I reluctantly but obediently got my orchid and quickly gave it away to someone with whom I had a close tie. And like the less-popular kid at the dance, I soon found out I would not have another orchid to give away until someone came along and gave me one! Finally, I received an orchid from someone else so I again had one to give away. This time, I looked around the room more closely. I noticed my “enemy” – an individual who I did not particularly care for and who I knew felt the same way about me. The two of us had spoken and unspoken resentments towards one another. It was the kind of thing that had gone on unresolved for many years (lifetimes???). For some reason, I decided that day to approach this individual and give them my orchid. You wouldn’t think this would be a particularly difficult thing to do – but my steps felt heavy and I had a pit in my stomach. I did not say a word as I looked at my “enemy” and extended the orchid. At first, there was no reaction or recognition. But suddenly, the non-recognition turned into a smile, tears, and acceptance. In fact, the individual stood up and embraced me and I somehow knew the “spell was broken”. Years later, I still see this person occasionally and can honestly say a healing has taken place between us. Finding Forgiveness through the Violet Flame Most of us have an “enemy” who needs forgiveness – a family member, someone at work or school, and sometimes even ourselves. There is a saying: Everyone makes mistakes, that’s why there are erasers on the end of pencils! The violet flame can be thought of as a cosmic eraser. And one way this amazing “eraser” works is to send mercy and forgiveness to anyone you may have hurt or who has hurt you. You can give the following mantra while imagining a big violet-flame eraser going out and removing any hurts you have with anyone else! I AM forgiveness acting here, Casting out all doubt and fear, Setting men forever free With wings of cosmic victory. I AM calling in full power For forgiveness every hour; To all life in every place I flood forth forgiving grace. You can also give this violet flame mantra with either video below. The first video is both introductory and devotional. The second video is much like a locomotive, the violet flame decree or mantra starts slowly and then begins to accelerate and build momentum. As you begin to memorize the words you can close your eyes and visualize the violet flame all around yourself and others who need forgiveness. Remember, you can only create what you visualize! And find the third video provides additional, valuable insight into forgiveness and we highly recommend it to our followers! And to learn even more about how forgiveness works, watch the following video! Until next time... Gentle Forgiveness Find other violet flame blogs you will enjoy here .
- Overcoming Cause and Effect with the Violet Flame!
I once heard a story from a very wise man who hosted a “come as you were” party. Each attendee was invited to dress up as a character from a previous life. The interesting thing which happened was everyone showed up as royalty or some important dignitary – there were no ordinary, everyday people in attendance! I am thinking most attendees had not considered Shakespeare’s words before getting dressed! All the world’s a stage, And all the men and women merely players; They have their exits and their entrances, And one man in his time plays many parts… [1] I suppose it remains to be seen what our “many parts” have been over possibly many lifetimes! One of the things which happened to us while we were playing “many parts” was that we created karma. Perhaps the word karma is new or even a bit uncomfortable to you. The concept of karma has also been expressed and illustrated in literature, society, and culture through phrases such as: • What goes around comes around • The circle of life • Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days. [2] • Cause and effect • Wash - Dry - Fold... Repeat Why do we have karma? We have free will – it is essentially the prime directive under which we live and operate in this world. Therefore, through free will, we can knowingly and unknowingly create karma along the way. However, this karma doesn't simply disappear or get wiped clean at the end of each life. With the gift of free will comes accountability! It can take a lot of courage to look at our negative karma (note: we make positive karma too!). The interesting thing about it all is that we really do create our world. When we send our thoughts, feelings, and words out into the atmosphere, they gather more of their kind (i.e. the law of attraction) and return to us. Ironically, the misuse of thoughts, feelings, and words can often bind us more tightly to the very things we desire to be free from! Karma is also one reason we don’t have to get too worked up about the sometimes perceived lack or timeliness of justice in this world. Those dominoes don’t always come full circle until one or perhaps many lifetimes later! How do we untangle that knotty ball of string that we call karma? The same wise man who hosted the “come as you were” party also used to say: “If they knew better, they’d do better”. We can begin to do better by taking the following actions to help accelerate the journey home: • Learn to control our thoughts, words, and feelings and freeing ourselves from criticism and judgment of others • Increase our good karma through kindness and service to life • Give the violet flame consistently How can the violet flame help us overcome cause and effect (karma)? The consistent use of the violet flame can help fast-track us through the balancing of our karma. Without the violet flame, we might well need to revisit every place we have ever lived and interact with everyone we have ever known in order to bring all things into balance. And ironically, the logistics and time for accomplishing all of this would require even more lifetimes! The violet flame is a gift given to us by Saint Germain . He knew what it would take to balance lifetimes worth of karma to make it all the way home. Following are some introductory, devotional violet flame mantras and affirmations to help you get started or reinforce your journey. - Friends in High Places – Portia, Our Violet Flame Helper!
Welcome to the latest in our ongoing blog post series entitled Friends in High Places – Our Violet Flame Helpers. From time-to-time we will introduce and share information with you about various friends in high places and how you can get to know these violet flame helpers better! What is a Friend? A true and faithful friend is a joy in life. Such a friend can be your parent, your brother or sister, someone in your class, or just about anyone – but a true friend is always someone you can trust. It is the person you can confide in and who loves you unconditionally. The Ascended Masters are our Friends in High Places We have many friends in heaven who love us as much as our closest friends on earth do. These friends are called ascended masters. We can think of them as the saints in heaven. There are many ascended masters who want to help us! Introducing the Ascended Lady Master Portia, our violet flame helper! The Ascended Lady Master Portia - a true friend in high places You may be reading or hearing about Portia for the first time. However, the great wisdom teachings reveal she has been with us for a very long time – sometimes away from our physical sight and other times right before us! Portia is known for and associated with the qualities of mercy, justice, and opportunity. The Quality of Mercy One of the most famous and insightful descriptions of mercy is found in William Shakespeare’s “ The Merchant of Venice” . Interestingly, the speech, often referred to as “The quality of mercy” is given by a character named Portia. In it, she is disguised as a lawyer who begs Shylock to show mercy to Antonio. The speech extols the power of mercy, “an attribute to God Himself.” The quality of mercy is not“strained. It droppeth as the gentle rain from heaven Upon the place beneath. It is twice blest: It blesseth him that gives and him that takes. These are words we can all learn to live by! The Quality of Justice Many of us watch and read the news daily and perceive various injustices in the world. When this happens, it is important to not be side-tracked by the seeming appearance of injustice because ultimately there is no injustice anywhere! We may not remember but we have met Portia before. Have you heard or read about people who experienced a near-death-experience (NDE)? Oftentimes, the person who “died” and came back recalls an experience where their life “passed before their eyes”. Perhaps this is because after each lifetime on Earth we meet with a group of heavenly beings who comprise what is called the Karmic Board. At some time after our just-completed lifetime we review our greatest accomplishments along with where we may have fallen short. Portia, known as the Goddess of Justice, is one of t he eight members of the Karmic Board [1]. With the assistance of many heavenly beings, Portia and the other members of the Karmic Board have access to the complete records of all our lifetimes on earth. They also determine who shall embody, as well as when and where. We meet with the Karmic Board before each lifetime where we receive our assignments along with the families and communities we will be part of. Mercy and Justice go hand-in-hand How we can be more just and merciful towards others in everyday life? In the esoteric classic “The Masters and Their Retreats” [2], it says “…wherever you attempt or seek to administer justice to others whom you also may have beneath your charge, you will give forth mercy – not in that quality unbalanced that will cause mankind to destroy themselves because of your lack of firmness, but in that perfect balance of spiritual understanding that gives to each man that portion of mercy properly mixed with justice that is best for him. “ The Quality of Opportunity Many of us look for opportunity to come to us in the form of a perfect job, financial success, or an ideal relationship. However, opportunity can appear in many disguises. Often, our greatest breakthroughs and advancement come from taking the opportunity to overcome the greatest obstacles as the following parable illustrates: Once upon a time, there was a benevolent Queen who cared deeply for her people and their well-being. One day, she decided to conduct a test of her fellow citizens to determine who had a positive attitude in life and would give of their time and energy for the good of the Kingdom and their fellow man. The Queen had a huge boulder placed in the middle of a well-traveled road. She then hid nearby to see who would attempt to move the boulder out of the way. The Queen observed wealthy merchants and courtiers passing down the road, none of whom made any attempt to move the boulder aside. They all turned and walked away, some even blaming the Queen for not maintaining the roads! Finally, a peasant came along carrying only his dinner vegetables. When he saw the boulder, the peasant laid his dinner aside and began trying to move the boulder. After much strenuous effort he succeeded, and the way forward was cleared. In that moment, the peasant saw a purse lying where the boulder had been. The peasant opened the purse and found it contained many gold coins and a note from the Queen which read: “This is the reward for the person who moves the boulder away”. The End. Even today, people often walk away from or blame others for problems or obstacles in their lives. However, the story clearly illustrates the great value of seeing opportunity in every obstacle – and working to remove these obstacles can often bring our greatest rewards! More ways to get to know the Ascended Lady Master Portia Portia and Saint Germain Portia and Saint Germain – Hierarchs of Aquarius Our regular readers here at Violet Flame World very likely know of Saint Germain . Did you know on May 1, 1954 Saint Germain and Portia were crowned hierarchs of the Aquarian age? A hierarch is defined as a person who: - rules or has authority in sacred matters; a high priest or priestess. - has high position or considerable authority. Not long after the start of the new millennium, we entered into the age of Aquarius – a 2000-year cycle which carries the potential for great advances in technology and spirituality – a veritable golden age of freedom! Saint Germain and Portia will play a pivotal role in the Aquarian age we are just entering. It will be so interesting to see how it all develops as humanity moves through the next 2000 years! The Violet Flame – An Opportunity to Remove Obstacles The word opportunity can be thought of as the op en port al to unity . And giving the violet flame is one very effective way we can begin to experience unity – unity with our higher self, with higher dimensions, and with our violet flame helpers! Whether you are new to the violet flame or have been using it for a long time, all can experience greater unity by giving the violet flame. In Accra, the capital of Ghana, there is a monument known as the Freedom and Justice Arch [3]. Congruent with this arch in higher dimensions is where the heavenly retreat of Portia is located. You can visit this ethereal retreat by giving this brief prayer at bedtime: “In the name of my I AM Presence, I call for an angel of light to escort me in my etheric body to the retreat of Portia over the Freedom and Justice Arch in Accra, Ghana. - Violet Flame... for a Perfect Match!
A Match Made in Heaven When I was young, I read and heard stories of knights in shining armor, a prince finding his princess, and everyone living happily ever after. Some of us grow up and experience this ideal while others continue the search for the “perfect match”. No matter our circumstance, we should always remember the ideal and help bring it out in one another! Like Attracts Like I heard someone say once – you need to become what you hope to attract. So, let’s say you are looking for someone who is kind, well-informed, and has a positive outlook. Then you can begin by practicing these qualities in your daily life until they naturally become a part of who you are. But I Thought Opposites Attract? Many times, opposites do attract. Sometimes two people are seeking balance and their relationship allows them to learn from an abundance or lack of qualities in each other. For example, one person may speak too loud and often while the other is too timid and doesn’t speak up. These opposites in qualities can sometimes create friction or tension in a relationship. But it is always helpful to remember it is the “irritation” from a grain of sand which causes the oyster to produce a beautiful pearl! How does the violet flame help you find your perfect match or that match made in heaven? The violet flame contains the qualities which help relationships the most – forgiveness, mercy, and kindness to name a few. And when you give the violet flame, it enters your heart and you begin to experience a breakthrough in understanding and a new compassion towards others. And as you begin to send love, forgiveness, and compassion to others you receive these same energies back. So, what goes around really does come around and you can begin to attract what you are becoming! Sound exciting? Here are some violet flame mantras and songs you can give or sing daily to assist in your journey! You may find others on our Violet Flame Resources Page . Until you meet again, somewhere in time...
- How to Get Your Life on Track with Violet Flame!
Some of our team members here at Violet Flame World recently moved to a small town in rural America. At the heart of the town there is an active railroad. In earlier times, the movement of people and goods was highly dependent on the railroad and therefore its location was often vital to the prosperity of towns where the railroad was located. Today, airplanes and 18-wheeler trucks have taken over much of the former importance and dependence on the railroad; however, there are still many trains which pass through town daily carrying freight and other items from one city to another. And late at night here in the countryside, you can hear the comforting train whistles in the distance – almost like a night watchman assuring that “all is well”, “all is well”. This newly acquired lifestyle brought to mind a story my parents read to me many times when I was little. The book was entitled the “The Little Engine That Could” and it was always one of my favorites. Written by Watty Piper and first published in 1930, this richly illustrated children’s (and adult’s!) story sold millions of copies and is full of simple yet profound morals and life lessons. A summary of the story follows and we will also include a link to the book [1] at the end of this blog post. After all, you may want to read it to your own children some day! Once upon a time, a very joyful train with lots of toys and good food was on its way to deliver its gifts to the good children who lived over the mountain. Suddenly, the joyful train broke down and was no longer able to make its wheels turn to make it up the mountain. The passengers of the train waited patiently and hopefully for the arrival of another train to help pull them up the hill. Soon, a new and powerful engine came along but quickly concluded its time and purpose were much too important to help. So, the new and powerful engine went puffing and steaming away. Later, an old engine came along and assessed the situation. The old engine concluded and affirmed “I am so tired” and “I can not” several times before chugging away. Finally, a friendly, little blue engine arrived on the scene and asked kindly “What is the matter, my friends?” The passengers told The Little Blue Engine their train was stuck and could not make it up the hill to its destination. The little blue train had never been over the mountain but knew the good little boys and girls there would not have any toys or good food unless it helped. So, the kindly blue train hitched itself to the little, broken train. Slowly, it tugged and pulled all the while saying “I think I can – I think I can” Faster and faster The Little Blue Engine climbed until at last they reached the top of the mountain. The triumphant Engine smiled knowing the good little boys and girls in the town would be happy because it had helped. The Little Blue Engine was last seen puffing steadily down the mountain saying over and over… “I thought I could. I thought I could. I thought I could…” This beautiful story teaches us many lessons including: • The great value of humility and kindness. The Little Blue Engine had no thought of self. It was simply kind and wanted to help. Contrast this with the powerful engine which thought its own mission was much too important for it to help. • The willingness to try [2]. It is not just about capability but about the willingness to try. The Little Blue Engine was successful because it began by trying. Conversely, the powerful engine had the capability to help the broken train make it to the top of the mountain but was unwilling to try. • The importance of courage. Even though The Little Blue Engine had never been to the top of the mountain or the town on the other side, it understood the needs of others were more important than its doubts or fears of the unknown. • The power of positive thinking and affirmation. The Little Blue Engine developed a positive mantra of sorts when it said repeatedly “I think I can – I think I can” and “I thought I could”! Contrast this with the old locomotive which affirmed “I am so tired” and “I can not”. Whenever you encounter obstacles in your life or are trying to determine the right thing to do, we hope you will always remember the enduring spirit of the The Little Blue Engine! How to Get Your Life on Track with Violet Flame It is interesting the word “chakra” in Sanskrit means “wheel”. Just like the train in The Little Engine That Could, our chakras or “wheels” can sometimes get stuck as we strive to make it to the top of the mountain. Indeed, negative energy can slow our “wheels” down and make us feel sluggish, depressed, and even “broken”. And this is where the profound benefits of the violet flame can help! As we give the violet flame, it raises the vibratory rate of the electrons of our being. Our consciousness begins to rise and we draw nearer to our True Self where we feel more buoyant and joyful again. Once we feel back “on track” we are ready to continue our journey up to the summit of the mountain! Creating a Rolling Momentum with the Violet Flame You may have heard about Mark Prophet sometime in your life. He worked tirelessly over many years to share the profound gift of the violet flame with the world. Mark masterfully used the image of a train picking up speed to teach us how to gain a rolling momentum of the violet flame. In his words: Now I’m going to play choo choo train with you. As we begin, it’s like a railroad train. When it first starts out, sometimes it’s so slow getting of the pad that it has to drop sand and it goes “shoop, shoop” and the wheels will spin around. “Shoop” – and they don’t go anyplace [They don’t have enough traction.] And then it gets a little momentum, a little sand gets caught – “shoop, shoop, shoop, shoop, shoop…” and then down the track it goes. So, remember that this acceleration is an important thing. So, visualize this violet flame around yourself and remember my demonstration of the train as we decree together: I AM a being of violet fire - I AM the purity God desires! I want you to take notice again of the increase of the vibrational frequency and how it has the tendency to act as a centrifuge, to throw off the emotional whirl of human despair and to replace it by a vibrational aspect similar to negatively charged ions that can be recognized after a rainstorm. You will observe how it gives a feeling of élan, of vibrancy, of buoyancy, of vitality, of awareness of God. [3] Are you ready to begin getting your life on track with the violet flame? If so, the Violet Flame Express is ready to depart the station as soon as you get on board! Your destiny awaits. And remember, the destination is always higher consciousness! Until next time… "I think I can - I think I can" Footnotes: [1] – The Little Engine That Could by Watty Piper. Watty Piper was a pen name of Arnold Munk, an owner of the publishing firm Platt & Munk.
