I had “that dream” again the other night. It’s the one where I am back in school, suddenly realizing I forgot to drop a class or have an upcoming final exam in a class I didn’t attend or study for! Perhaps you have had this or a similar dream. After all these years, “that dream” still surfaces in me from time to time. I interpret this dream symbolically. It signals that something in my life needs my attention or preparation. Our lives often unfold as a series of events or challenges. We don’t always anticipate or prepare for them due to fear or other circumstances. I remember clearly the last week of my father’s earthly life. He shared with me some regrets, and one stood out in particular. During his professional career, my dad was approached by a well-known businessman. This man sought someone with an accounting background who was dependable and trustworthy. My father had all these attributes and was quickly offered the position, along with a promise of good compensation and value in the company. Ultimately, my dad turned down the offer. In his final week, he shared that this was one of his biggest regrets. He realized that he had not accepted the job due to fear of the unknown and a sense of unworthiness. As I grow older (and hopefully wiser!), I experience my own regrets and occasional feelings of unworthiness. Regrets are not unusual. In the international best-selling book The Top Five Regrets of the Dying , author and hospice nurse Bronnie Ware observed a pattern of regrets among her patients, including: I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me. I wish I hadn’t worked so hard. I wish I’d had the courage to express my feelings. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends. I wish I had let myself be happier. I noticed the word “courage” appears in two of these regrets. The lack of courage often equates to fear. Fear can keep us from fulfilling our highest potential in this world and hinder our progress in the next. "Nothing in life is to be feared; it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less." - Marie (Madam) Curie When we talk to people or read surveys, we discover some of the biggest recurring fears in life. These include public speaking, heights, going to the dentist, and dying. One of our hopes in part one of this three-part blog series is to demystify the change called death, making it less fearful. After all, our souls are on a continuum of birth and rebirth (reincarnation) here on Earth. Our ultimate goal is to graduate with honors from Earth’s schoolroom. This way, we can live, serve, and evolve in higher dimensions across God’s vast creation! To begin our journey together, we want to share an excerpt from the TV series The Twilight Zone . It features a moving encounter between an elderly woman, who has feared death her entire life, and an angel played by a very young Robert Redford. In parts 2 and 3 of this series, we will continue exploring your options for the afterlife. We’ll describe some events you will likely encounter in the next world. Additionally, we hope to inspire you and offer the best tools available. This way, you can reach the highest possible level in the next world while avoiding the pitfalls or “hell” of our own creation! Setting the Sail in Life Remember, what determines where you go when you leave this Earth is your state of consciousness and your actions during your life. You set the sail! As you approach the end of this life, remember that you must be the captain of your ship. Set your sail for where you want to go and what you want to be. Don’t let someone else do it for you. For now, I leave you with a beautiful poem by Henry Van Dyke called Gone From My Sight . It uses the metaphor of a ship sailing over the horizon to describe death. The poem offers solace by suggesting that a loved one's passing is not an ending but a continuation of their journey. Gone From My Sight by Henry Van Dyke I am standing upon the seashore. A ship, at my side, spreads her white sails to the moving breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength. I stand and watch her until, at length, she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other. Then, someone at my side says, "There, she is gone." Gone where? Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast, hull, and spar as she was when she left my side. And she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port. Her diminished size is in me—not in her. And just at the moment when someone says, "There, she is gone," there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout, "Here she comes!" And that is dying... Welcome to part 2 of our ongoing series, Exploring Your Options for the Afterlife . In this post, we will uncover the fascinating possibilities that await you after passing from this life and journeying into the next. The Power of Perspective Our adventure begins with an anecdote of two souls and their respective experiences upon reaching the Pearly Gates: A man had recently passed on and found himself standing before the Pearly Gates of Heaven. He was inherently good but had faced many challenges in life. A magnificent angel greeted him. The angel asked, “How was it down there on earth?” The man replied, “It was pretty rough. People were mostly rude to one another. There seemed to be injustice and unresolved problems everywhere.” After listening intently, the angel replied, “Well, come on in. I think that’s how you’ll find things here!” Soon after, a second man arrived at the Pearly Gates and met the same angel. He too was a good man who had faced challenges. The angel asked him, “How was it down there on earth?” The second man replied, “There were challenges, but there was goodness in many people. There was great beauty in many places on Earth. Nearly everyone treated one another as they would like to be treated.” After listening, the angel replied, “Well, come on in. I think that’s how you’ll find things here!” This anecdote teaches us a valuable lesson. At the moment of our passing, we often find ourselves unchanged in consciousness and surroundings compared to our life on Earth. For example, we do not suddenly become adept or saintly in the afterlife if we had no inclination to be one while we were alive! Understanding the Etheric Plane The following chart illustrates the 33 levels of the etheric plane, or heaven world, alongside the 33 levels of the astral plane, often referred to as hell. In this blog, we will focus on the heaven world—what it’s like and how you might reach it at the end of this life. We hope to inspire you to aim for these higher realms and avoid the astral plane or lower realms altogether! I was raised in a Christian home, and when I first encountered this information years ago, some concepts felt unfamiliar and uncomfortable. If you feel the same way, I encourage you to place those parts on the “back burner” for now. What may seem unclear today could take on a new meaning later. Think of it like school—when you’re in grade school, college can seem intimidating. But over time, everything starts to become clearer! The Physical Plane The Earth is where we occupy the physical plane. It is the crossroads between the etheric and astral planes. This is why we sometimes experience, feel, and express the vibrations of both. The earlier anecdote of the two souls at the Pearly Gates illustrates this beautifully. Going Up! Metaphorically speaking, the etheric plane or heaven world is organized like a schoolroom. Once you’ve mastered one level, you graduate to the next, and then the next—continuing on if you choose to apply yourself! Levels 1-3 of the etheric plane are referred to as Devachan, a realm where you may experience unfulfilled desires from your earthly life. Note that this does not include sensual desires. The sensual desires of your lower nature are left at the door, so to speak, of the etheric octave or heaven world. In Devachan, your negative karma is temporarily set aside, allowing you to experience your good karma while learning things that will prepare you for your next life. In the classic movie Field of Dreams , Ray Kinsella builds a baseball field in the middle of his cornfield after receiving a prompting that “If you build it, they will come.” The baseball field becomes a portal between worlds where the souls of deceased baseball players can come and live out baseball-related and other desires they did not fulfill in life. Watch this moving scene where Ray unexpectedly discovers his true reason for building the baseball field. Continuing Through the Etheric! Level 7 of the etheric plane mirrors life on the planet Venus. Long ago, the evolutions of Venus attained enlightenment and peace during a golden age. They experience a greater light and beauty than we have so far attained on Earth. Life on Venus cannot be perceived by those of us on Earth because it exists at another dimension or wavelength. The concept of dimension, wavelength, and vibration can be partly understood by observing an airplane propeller. As the propeller spins, it is plainly visible. But as the rotation becomes faster, the propeller begins to disappear from our sight. Yet, it is still there, spinning away! Level 12 of the etheric plane is known as The Buddhist Tushita heaven or “pure land.” This is where Maitreya Buddha and his disciples, the bodhisattvas, abide. Level 18 of the etheric plane is where the Ascended Masters reside. The Ascended Masters are our elder brothers and sisters who have gained mastery here on Earth and are no longer required to re-embody. This realm is one of light and consciousness, which we should all aspire to at the end of this life! Above the 33rd level of the etheric plane, we pass from the material world into the absolute world of spirit. God is indeed limitless! Messages from Heaven is a fascinating book chronicling the experiences of a soul who passed from this world and was given the opportunity to communicate with family members here on Earth. The following excerpt describes what this soul experienced and shared from the etheric plane: “The spiritual realm is much more magnificent but also much more complex than I had ever imagined. Yes, there is heaven, but heaven has many layers, or levels. People do not all go to the same location. If you think about Divine Justice, how could there be only one heaven and one hell when there are many different types of souls who walk this Earth? Do we not all know at least one person who radiates a spiritual sense stronger than most others we have met? What you find within the category of heaven are different etheric levels with etheric retreats. These retreats are run by angels or ascended hosts. Within what we have called ‘hell,’ there are multiple levels of the astral plane, including hell. Each level going down in vibration intensifies in severity and in the recalcitrance of the souls sent there. In the etheric plane, each level going up in vibration intensifies in its light and in the spiritual purity of the souls there.” This excerpt from Messages from Heaven offers valuable clarity into the biblical passage: “In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.” What a blessing it is to have this material to help illuminate the mystery and vastness of the next world and the etheric planes! A Heavenly Adventure Awaits Celestial cities, meals out of this world, a heavenly spa? It all sounds like a dream vacation of sorts but the possibility of these experiences and more in the next world are very real!   Welcome to part 3 of our ongoing series, Exploring Your Options for the Afterlife . In our latest post, we will reveal just a few of the fascinating possibilities that await you at the conclusion of this life. And as discussed in part 2 of this series we will continue our focus on the etheric plane or heaven world. Our ongoing hope is to so inspire you to make it to these higher realms that you will want to avoid the astral plane or lower realms altogether!    For many of us, the ideal vacation experience requires a combination of many factors including:    • Making good and informed destination choices • Having the needed financial resources • Getting approval for a temporary absence from work and other responsibilities • Planning how to best spend time at your dream destination    Reaching our “dream destination” in the next world requires similar effort and more  including:   • A lifetime of planning • An abundance of spiritual currency (i.e. good works and making positive karma) • Payment or repayment of spiritual debt (i.e. balancing negative karma) • Honest, spiritual self-reflection and accepting accountability for our thoughts, motives, and actions • Treating others as you would like to be treated   Beyond the Physical – Welcome to the Etheric Cities! There are great cities of light in the etheric plane or heaven world located at various points on the Earth. These etheric cities are even more real than the ones we currently inhabit on Earth. In addition, they are experienced through the senses of the soul in a dimension and a consciousness beyond our current physical awareness.   In these cities there are souls who are preparing to reembody, who have petitioned heavenly beings for another opportunity to once again come forth and work out their destiny in the world. These waiting souls live, work and serve in situations much like those they have left on the planet, with the exception that the etheric cities represent what the Earth is intended to be in a golden age. In the etheric cities, there are great temples of light and homes similar to those we know on Earth. There are temples of worship and healing as well as ideal forms of government, education, art and music.   Those who spend their time between embodiments in these cities have a great worth to contribute in their succeeding lives. They typically are very idealistic in their next embodiment out of the remembrance of the joy and happiness they experienced while living in these etheric homes of light. They come in great hope that somewhere on Earth they can recreate the beauty and peace they have known in the etheric planes. The etheric cities show us how the world can be again in a future golden age! [1] Messages from Heaven In part 2 of Exploring Your Options for the Afterlife we referenced the book Messages from Heaven  [2]. It is a fascinating read which chronicles the experiences of a soul who passed on from this world and for a time was given the opportunity to continue communicating with some close family members here on Earth. Following are two excerpts from the book which describe what this soul experienced and shared from the etheric plane or heaven world:  Meals Out of this World! “Our meals are spectacular! We drink many juices that are like the pure essence of any fruit or vegetable you can imagine. Everything we consume seems light – not heavy or dense in any way. We do eat regular meals and have occasional banquets. Most of the food is different from anything that we were used to on Earth and ten times better!”     A Spiritual Spa “I was given certain baths of light with the violet flame.* These were given to raise my vibration and draw my full being into wholeness. They are prepared by Master Alchemists to provide the exact amount of blue or pink color in the violet that each soul needs.”   * Violet Flame – In Part 4, the concluding post in this series, we will share with you the secret of the violet flame and how to experience its profound benefits in your life! Mirror, Mirror on the Wall You may remember the famous line from the classic Walt Disney movie Snow White : "Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who’s the fairest of them all?" And if you have studied esoteric literature, you may have also encountered a reply to this question that carries a deeper meaning: “ Why, I AM!” You may also have an experience with a special mirror in the next world. It is commonly referred to as the Cosmic Mirror.  What is the Cosmic Mirror? In the esoteric classic book Unveiled Mysteries [3] the Cosmic Mirror is described as a “mirror of living light” – “a cosmic screen, upon which living pictures in all dimensions could be portrayed, with no limit to the space that could be observed.... Everything which had or ever could take place in all Eternity might be made visible on this screen, if the Directing Intelligence so desired.” At first glance the Cosmic Mirror looks like an ordinary motion picture screen. The Master selects certain records taken from akasha [4] which are also contained in the memory of the soul, and upon the Cosmic Mirror they come alive. This is beyond 3-D—you are there! A portion of a past life, or more than one, passes before you, but you are a living part of this nonfiction play of light and darkness with shades of grey. It is almost too much to handle as you relive the emotions, the premeditated thoughts and the acts themselves. Throughout this experience you sense your Higher Consciousness standing guard and telling you gently but firmly not to give way to the extremes of ecstasy or despondency. Further, your Higher Self assists you to face the future with a hope based on the scientific knowledge that in your hands, by the grace of the Holy Spirit, lies the power to change. A few segments a session are given and you soon see the need to apply the violet flame to those scenes and memories until balance is restored! [5] A somewhat similar and humorous experience like the Cosmic Mirror can be seen in this excerpt from the movie Defending Your Life : [6] A Spiritual Board of Overseers Have you heard or read about people who experienced a near-death-experience (NDE)? Oftentimes, the person who “died” and came back recalls an experience where their life “passed before their eyes”. Perhaps this is because after each lifetime on Earth we meet with a group of heavenly beings who comprise what is called the Karmic Board [7]. At some time after our just-completed lifetime we review our greatest accomplishments along with where we may have fallen short. With the assistance of many heavenly beings, the Karmic Board has access to the complete records of all our lifetimes on Earth. They also determine who shall embody, as well as when and where. In addition to our end-of-life review, we meet with the Karmic Board before each lifetime where we receive our assignments along with the families and communities we will be part of. How the Life Review Works The book Messages from Heaven continues where our new-to-heaven soul describes a portion of his own life review:   “Very early on I was allowed to review my entire life. Everything was so vivid. Every moment spent in anger or impatience or fear or self-pity seemed so wasted. I was instantly made aware of the patterns or momentums, both positive and negative, that had been part of my life. I was so grateful for any time that I had served with an unselfish heart and for the times that I had loved and honored life or made the honest or just choice. I was painfully aware of the ways in which I had wasted energy or blocked my own progress through often foolish but embedded habit patterns. Heart Chakra The basic questions are: How did you use the hours of your life? Essentially, how much of your life have you served God in your fellowman and in your day-to-day actions? How developed is your heart chakra? You are allowed to give your own comments on the assessment of your life. This is followed by a meeting with a board of heavenly beings who give their analysis of your life. You are shown past lives where you can see most clearly the origin of many of your habit patterns and the reasons for many of the events that took place in your life. Recording Angel There is a recording angel for each of us. Nothing is missed. God is not mocked or fooled in any way. We only fool our human self by our actions. And in reality, deep inside the soul always knows what is right or wrong, but many try to deaden themselves in the voice. During this review of lifetimes I was allowed to know what I had needed to balance and what I did balance. The whole tone of the review was loving and positive, not judgmental. It was a time of great learning for my soul. In many ways you are your own judge, for you can see so clearly where you have erred. I myself felt highly motivated to get on with what I still needed to transmute. I wished that I had realized many things while I was in embodiment. And that is why I feel so privileged to share this, so that many others may take the opportunity to face themselves while they are still in embodiment. A helpful exercise for each of you would be to run the films clips of your life, so to speak, and begin to look at how you have been utilizing the hours of your life. Notice the progress you have made. Perhaps you are a totally different person than you were ten years ago. That counts for much in heaven. Do not get stuck in self-reproach. Make each day count toward the new directions that you want to take. Extra points are given for lessons you have genuinely learned and tests you have passed., even if not on the first try.”   Taking Action - Preparing for the Afterlife Would you like to further develop your heart chakra and begin expressing a love like the one described by the soul above? If so, we encourage you to give these heart-centered mantras often! These are just a few of the experiences which you can look forward to having in the next world. Sometimes, when people begin giving violet flame, they can be a little uncomfortable repeating the affirmations, prayers and mantras out loud. And yet sound is the key. Sound, whatever it may be, is caused by something vibrating. The vibration of sound can create change in the world we live it. For example, it can trigger an avalanche or an opera singer can shatter a glass. Science has shown how certain types of music can have a favorable impact on the growth of plants, the development of children, and even milk production in dairy cows. In the scientific community, quantum physics is beginning to reveal that at the particle level everything is connected ; therefore, the sounds we make, the words we speak, and the mantras we give have an impact on everything and everyone! And finally, scientists have recently discovered and are developing a breakthrough approach in ultrasound to target cancerous tumors. It is called Histotripsy and is ushering in a new era of surgery-free cancer treatment! Perhaps you remember the old adage, "Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never harm me"? Not true! Our positive words can uplift other people or impact them unfavorably when used in anger or through gossip. One of the very best examples we have seen regarding the impact of sound and words is from an episode of the television series Touched By an Angel. In this episode, entitled "Monica's Bad Day", a restaurant owner begins the day by making a rude gesture at Monica. The rude gesture and subsequent unkind words in turn sets off a ripple which negatively impacts everyone in its path. Near the end of the episode, everyone learns that it "didn't have to be that way" and a "do-over" using positive, uplifting words leads to a beautiful conclusion. And in areas of faith, religious practitioners have chanted the OM for hundreds of years or longer. When you chant the OM, you open your spiritual centers or chakras and the sound of creation flows through and raises you to a place of higher consciousness. The following video will give you the opportunity to participate in this very experience! And with this understanding you can now give violet flame affirmations, prayers, and mantras out loud fully aware that the vibration of sound is one of the keys to transforming yourself… and the world! How many times over the years have we seen advertisements for all different kinds of laundry detergents and cleaners? Each one promises to perform better than the rest. And yet, they only clean laundry which is something we will not have to do into the next world (thank goodness). Now, what if I told you there was a spiritual detergent that cleaned body, mind, and soul by removing karmic debris on contact? I believe this product would generate considerable interest. Well, there is such a product. It is available now, free to use, and you can begin experiencing its benefits at any time. The spiritual detergent we are talking about is the Violet Flame! The Violet Flame Acts Like a Powerful Detergent “The violet flame works a little like soap. Soap gets dirt out of your clothes by using the positive and negative charges of atoms. It works because each of its molecules has two sides – a side that is attracted to dirt and a side that is attracted to water The dirt-loving side attracts the dirt, like a magnet attracts paper clips when it is dragged through a box of them. The water-loving side sticks to the water, carrying the dirt with it. When we invoke the violet flame, it sets up a polarity between the nucleus of the atom and the white-fire core of the flame. The nucleus, being matter, assumes the negative pole; the white-fire core of the violet flame, being Spirit, assumes the positive pole. The interaction between the nucleus of the atom and the light in the violet flame establishes an oscillation. This oscillation dislodges the densities that are trapped between the electrons orbiting the nucleus. As this hardened substance that weighs down the atom is loosened, it is thrown into the violet flame and carried away. But unlike soap, the violet flame does not simply surround and remove the debris; it transforms it into pure light-energy. Freed of this debris, the electrons begin to move more freely, thus raising our vibration and propelling us into a more spiritual state of being.” [1] As you use the scrubbing action of the violet flame, you can think of the action in your body as though you were being dunked in a chemical solution of purple liquid which dissolves the dirt or negative karma which has accumulated for decades! The violet flame – empowering you to put this profound spiritual flame to use in your life through the combination of mantras, decrees, and visualization - is something we write about often here at Violet Flame World. As we write this, Valentine’s Day is soon approaching. During this time, many of us find ourselves shopping or searching for the perfect gift for a loved one. Often, these gifts are an expression of love such as jewelry, a special evening out, a heart-shaped box of chocolates, or roses. This Valentine’s, we are proposing an additional expression of love as a gift. It concerns your physical heart and how you can send actual light to another person! Many world-renowned philosopher’s and spiritual leaders have spoken of the heart. Consider the following: “If light is in your heart, you will find your way home.” Rumi “Beauty is a light in the heart.” Khalil Gibran “Practice meditation. You’ll find that you are carrying within your heart a portable paradise.” - Paramahansa Yogananda “Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.” - Aristotle “The idea of karma is that you continually get the teachings that you need to open your heart.” – Pema Chödrön “Yet, taught by time, my heart has learned to glow for other's good, and melt at other's woe.” – Homer The heart (pun intended!) of this blog post concerns scientific research begun in the late 1990’s at the University of Kessel in Witzenhause, Germany. Their research showed that during meditation, it was possible under certain conditions, to produce visible light from the heart/chest area. The first condition was that meditation must be heart, and not mind-centered. The second condition was a specific person with an actual need had to be identified as a receiver of the transmitted light. When both conditions were met, a sustained light emission from the heart/chest area of the transmitter was measured at 100,000 photons per second, whereas only 20 photons of light per second were observed otherwise! To summarize, actual light generation was achieved and sustained at a rate 5000 times greater through the combination of an effective meditation technique (including visualization) and the intention of sending light to a specific individual in need of some form of healing. There are so many altruistic ways the world can begin putting this understanding to use. What if… • the medical community began incorporating this understanding into their existing practices? • we began using these techniques when praying for people we haven’t forgiven or with whom we still have negative karma? • we used this practice as a year-round “Valentine’s gift” to bring a relationship with a loved one into an even higher expression of love? • we used this practice whenever we become aware of friends, loved ones and others in need of some form of healing? The possibilities are endless! Isn’t it wonderful when science can help prove what faith and spirituality have been telling us all along? And as you may remember from previous blog posts, the Aquarian Age we are now entering has the potential to be an Age of great advancement in both spirituality and science. Indeed, we are on the cusp of greater and greater discovery where each will compliment and be compatible with one another! Violet Flame – from our Heart to Yours! Getting to the heart of the matter with violet flame! Following are some approaches we recommend for putting the violet flame into action. You may have read or heard the legend of Issac Newton sitting under an apple tree and how he was inspired to develop the law of gravity after an apple fell and hit him on the head. Sometime, these “apples” come our way in life and hit us on the head as a way of getting our attention. Why is this? In physics, the law of gravity can be thought of as an invisible force that pulls objects toward each other. Earth's gravity is what keeps us on the ground and makes things fall. There is also a spiritual law which in one sense keeps us on the ground and can cause us to fall. It is called the law of karma. Karma can be understood as thoughts, feelings, or actions in this or in a previous life which creates the force that pulls us back to earth to resolve things personally or with others. Note: Sometimes, people think of karma only as “bad” – something they did wrong or which was done to them. However, we also have unlimited opportunity to make good karma! More on this in a later blog post. Can we overcome our “bad” karma, break away from gravity and truly be free? The answer is yes! We know a rocket employs fire and great force before breaking free from the Earth’s gravity. Once accomplished, the rocket is free of earthly pull and can begin to navigate the entire universe. As more and more of us begin to understand and put the violet flame into practice to balance karma, we too will be free of the pull of our karma here on earth and ready to live in, explore and experience the entire spiritual universe! Sir Issac Newton made far-reaching contributions in the study of gravity, optics, color, the speed of sound and dedicated much of his time to the study of alchemy. He once said: “Are not rays of light very small bodies emitted from shining substances?” Newton was well ahead of his time and would have been fascinated by the science and the spirituality of the violet flame! Welcome to the latest in our ongoing blog post series entitled Friends in High Places – Our Violet Flame Helpers. From time-to-time we will introduce and share information with you about various friends in high places and how you can get to know these violet flame helpers better! What is a Friend? A true and faithful friend is a joy in life. Such a friend can be your parent, your brother or sister, someone in your class, or just about anyone – but a true friend is always someone you can trust. It is the person you can confide in and who loves you unconditionally. The Ascended Masters are our Friends in High Places We have many friends in heaven who love us as much as our closest friends on earth do. These friends are called ascended masters. We can think of them as the saints in heaven. There are many ascended masters who want to help us! Introducing the Ascended Lady Master Portia, our violet flame helper! The Ascended Lady Master Portia - a true friend in high places You may be reading or hearing about Portia for the first time. However, the great wisdom teachings reveal she has been with us for a very long time – sometimes away from our physical sight and other times right before us! Portia is known for and associated with the qualities of mercy, justice, and opportunity. The Quality of Mercy One of the most famous and insightful descriptions of mercy is found in William Shakespeare’s “ The Merchant of Venice” . Interestingly, the speech, often referred to as “The quality of mercy” is given by a character named Portia. In it, she is disguised as a lawyer who begs Shylock to show mercy to Antonio. The speech extols the power of mercy, “an attribute to God Himself.” The quality of mercy is not“strained. It droppeth as the gentle rain from heaven Upon the place beneath. It is twice blest: It blesseth him that gives and him that takes. These are words we can all learn to live by! The Quality of Justice Many of us watch and read the news daily and perceive various injustices in the world. When this happens, it is important to not be side-tracked by the seeming appearance of injustice because ultimately there is no injustice anywhere! We may not remember but we have met Portia before. Have you heard or read about people who experienced a near-death-experience (NDE)? Oftentimes, the person who “died” and came back recalls an experience where their life “passed before their eyes”. Perhaps this is because after each lifetime on Earth we meet with a group of heavenly beings who comprise what is called the Karmic Board. At some time after our just-completed lifetime we review our greatest accomplishments along with where we may have fallen short. Portia, known as the Goddess of Justice, is one of t he eight members of the Karmic Board [1]. With the assistance of many heavenly beings, Portia and the other members of the Karmic Board have access to the complete records of all our lifetimes on earth. They also determine who shall embody, as well as when and where. We meet with the Karmic Board before each lifetime where we receive our assignments along with the families and communities we will be part of. Mercy and Justice go hand-in-hand How we can be more just and merciful towards others in everyday life? In the esoteric classic “The Masters and Their Retreats” [2], it says “…wherever you attempt or seek to administer justice to others whom you also may have beneath your charge, you will give forth mercy – not in that quality unbalanced that will cause mankind to destroy themselves because of your lack of firmness, but in that perfect balance of spiritual understanding that gives to each man that portion of mercy properly mixed with justice that is best for him. “ The Quality of Opportunity Many of us look for opportunity to come to us in the form of a perfect job, financial success, or an ideal relationship. However, opportunity can appear in many disguises. Often, our greatest breakthroughs and advancement come from taking the opportunity to overcome the greatest obstacles as the following parable illustrates: Once upon a time, there was a benevolent Queen who cared deeply for her people and their well-being. One day, she decided to conduct a test of her fellow citizens to determine who had a positive attitude in life and would give of their time and energy for the good of the Kingdom and their fellow man. The Queen had a huge boulder placed in the middle of a well-traveled road. She then hid nearby to see who would attempt to move the boulder out of the way. The Queen observed wealthy merchants and courtiers passing down the road, none of whom made any attempt to move the boulder aside. They all turned and walked away, some even blaming the Queen for not maintaining the roads! Finally, a peasant came along carrying only his dinner vegetables. When he saw the boulder, the peasant laid his dinner aside and began trying to move the boulder. After much strenuous effort he succeeded, and the way forward was cleared. In that moment, the peasant saw a purse lying where the boulder had been. The peasant opened the purse and found it contained many gold coins and a note from the Queen which read: “This is the reward for the person who moves the boulder away”. The End. Even today, people often walk away from or blame others for problems or obstacles in their lives. However, the story clearly illustrates the great value of seeing opportunity in every obstacle – and working to remove these obstacles can often bring our greatest rewards! More ways to get to know the Ascended Lady Master Portia Portia and Saint Germain Portia and Saint Germain – Hierarchs of Aquarius Our regular readers here at Violet Flame World very likely know of Saint Germain . Did you know on May 1, 1954 Saint Germain and Portia were crowned hierarchs of the Aquarian age? A hierarch is defined as a person who: - rules or has authority in sacred matters; a high priest or priestess. - has high position or considerable authority. Not long after the start of the new millennium, we entered into the age of Aquarius – a 2000-year cycle which carries the potential for great advances in technology and spirituality – a veritable golden age of freedom! Saint Germain and Portia will play a pivotal role in the Aquarian age we are just entering. It will be so interesting to see how it all develops as humanity moves through the next 2000 years! The Violet Flame – An Opportunity to Remove Obstacles The word opportunity can be thought of as the op en port al to unity . And giving the violet flame is one very effective way we can begin to experience unity – unity with our higher self, with higher dimensions, and with our violet flame helpers! Whether you are new to the violet flame or have been using it for a long time, all can experience greater unity by giving the violet flame. In Accra, the capital of Ghana, there is a monument known as the Freedom and Justice Arch [3]. Congruent with this arch in higher dimensions is where the heavenly retreat of Portia is located. You can visit this ethereal retreat by giving this brief prayer at bedtime: “In the name of my I AM Presence, I call for an angel of light to escort me in my etheric body to the retreat of Portia over the Freedom and Justice Arch in Accra, Ghana. Perhaps you have heard or read the following? Today, I walked down a street which had a large hole in it. I didn’t know about the hole and fell in it. The next time I walked down the street, I knew where the hole was and still fell in it. The next time, I took a different street! This story reminds me a lot of the journey called life. Sometimes, we spend much of our time living a similar pattern – reacting to events and repeating our mistakes over and over until we start examining our actions more closely and begin making changes. Note: We didn’t necessarily fall in all these holes in the street in just one life and therefore it can often take us several lifetimes to get back out again. This is one reason we have been given the gift of reincarnation! Fortunately, there is another way to move past these holes or ruts. It has been written about and experienced by hearty souls throughout the ages. We will call it the Hero’s Journey! The big question is whether you are going to be able to say a hearty yes to your adventure. – Joseph Campbell In 1949, a man by the name of Joseph Campbell wrote a famous book entitled The Hero with a Thousand Faces. Through extensive travel, study, and experience Campbell had noticed a common theme underlying most religions and classic stories. He described the narrative pattern as follows: A hero ventures forth from the world of common day into a region of supernatural wonder: fabulous forces are there encountered and a decisive victory is won: the hero comes back from this mysterious adventure with the power to bestow boons on his fellow man. Numerous literary works follow the theme of the Hero’s Journey including classics by Herman Melville, Charles Dickens, Mark Twain, W.B. Yeats, C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien and many others. Indeed, George Lucas credited Joseph Campbell's work as influencing his Star Wars saga. A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself – Joseph Campbell What are some of the characteristics you will want to have and develop on your adventure? Here are some important ones: Courage As you progress further on your journey, you will begin to see less climbers, the air becomes thinner, and the path will narrow. It will take great courage and determination to make it to your destination and not turn back. Wisdom In the Star Wars series, Yoda imparted much wisdom to many including Luke Skywalker, a hero-in-becoming. Here are a few examples: “Train yourself to let go of everything you fear to lose.” “Truly wonderful the mind of a child is.” “In a dark place we find ourselves, and a little more knowledge lights our way.” “Named must your fear be before banish it you can.” Love If you want to be successful on the journey and return with the power to “bestow boons” on your fellow man than your desire to love and serve humanity will need to be great. In addition, you will need to understand that to “forget self” points to the higher way. Violet Flame's role in the Hero’s Journey? The violet flame helps us to accelerate through karma. When we make the choice to accelerate we become much like a boat, which when it speeds up, skims across the waves more smoothly rather than absorbing the full brunt of every wave. Our passion here at Violet Flame World is sharing stories about the violet flame, how it works, and the ways each of us can apply it in our lives to achieve self-transformation! In this blog post you are invited to join us in a violet flame story time! I recently re-discovered a story in an old book of children’s classics. It is one of many stories my dad read to me from that same book years ago. Even at the end of a long day of work for him, he would never tire of reading and re-reading these stories to me. It is a reminder that parents should always read and share quality, wholesome stories with their children because they are planting seeds which will blossom in profound and unexpected ways throughout their lives! And now, it is my time to share this story with you! It is entitled “How the Finch got her Colors”. Notice how the story references many of the qualities associated with the violet flame - color, light, selflessness, beauty, and joy. Long, long ago, when there were still only a few men on earth, there were many, many birds. They flew through the air and perched on the trees, just as they do now. But there was no blue flash from the jay’s wing, no bright orange on the oriole. They were all the same color – a dull gray, like a mist that rises from a marsh. They did not mind their dullness because they had never seen any colors. Everything in the world was gray like their own feathers. Then one morning a wonderful thing happened. A rainbow appeared in the sky. The King of the Birds was the first to see it. He watched it in wonder for a few minutes. Then he called to all the other birds. “Come quickly,” he sang. “Come see the marvel in the sky!” From all the corners of the earth the birds flew to him. They too were made silent by the beauty of the rainbow. After a while the King of the Birds had a happy thought. “If we had such lovely colors,” he said, “how much joy we could bring to the men and women and little children of the earth. I will fly up to this bright arc and bring back the colors for you.” Then turning to the nearest bird he asked, “Which color do you want?” “I want green,” screeched the bird – who happened to be a parrot. “I want orange,” sang another. “I want bright red”, said a third. The King of the Birds flew off toward the end of the rainbow. Soon he came back with the green. Then he brought the orange and the red and all the other beautiful colors. Soon there was no longer a bright arc in the sky, but the birds were flying around in its lovely colors. Only one little bird still wore its dull gray feathers. “Come here, little finch,“ called the King of the Birds, noticing the sad little bird. “Why are you still dull in color?” “I was waiting for my turn,” said the little finch. “But now all the colors are gone, so I suppose I shall have to be gray for the rest of my life.” “Indeed you shall you not,” replied the King of the Birds. “Stay here beside me.” Then he called to the other birds, who were starting to fly away. “Come back,” he sang. “Here is the little finch without a single bright feather. She was so unselfish that she did not demand her share, while everyone else took what he wanted. Give her some of your green,” he said to the parrot. The parrot took off a few of her green feathers and gave them to the finch. “Now some of your orange,” he said to the oriole, “and a touch of your bright red,” he said to the red-winged blackbird. A little ashamed of their selfishness, the birds crowded around the finch and gave her part of their lovely colors. Soon the finch was the loveliest bird of all. The others had only one of the colors the King had brought, but she was clothed in all the beauty of the rainbow. It seems like there are many stories and songs about rainbows. Why is this so? Perhaps one reason is because the rainbow illustrates our relationship to God as seen in the beautiful picture below. Let’s focus on the rainbow-colored spheres in this illustration. In esoteric literature, these spheres are often referred to as the causal body. Each of us has a casual body. It is made up of beautiful concentric spheres of pulsating light and is scintillating with the unlimited potential of Spirit. Your causal body is entirely unique because it is composed of the energies you have personally set in motion in all your lifetimes. Each of these seven beautiful spheres denotes a different aspect of higher consciousness that your soul has dwelled upon and become, somewhere and sometime in her evolution. The pure colors of the causal body reflect the pure colors of the seven chakras, because any energy that has been properly qualified (i.e. expressed) in any of your seven chakras immediately rises to your casual body. Violet Flame for Self-Transformation Everything good that you do – or have ever done – in pure love, peace, and harmony rises to your causal body. As you use the violet flame to transmute (i.e. change) negative karma, that energy automatically goes there as well. Indeed, the violet flame is the ultimate self-help tool. It can transform your past and your present which in turn can favorably impact your future! You are continually building your causal body in heaven, and its light is always increasing. You might call this your cosmic bank account, your personal treasure stored up in heaven. When you tap into the energy in your casual body, it is released to you as blessing, bounty, wisdom, light, love, and direction. Everything you do in your profession, your home, and your entire life determines how you are building that casual body. It doesn’t matter what kind of work you do. It matters that you do it with love and a heart of peace. And as you develop mastery on one of the seven rays through your work and service, the corresponding sphere of your causal body will increase. We would like to leave you with a song about the rainbow. The song is entitled The Rainbow Connection and it is rich in symbolism and upliftment. Welcome to our latest blog post from Violet Flame World. As many of you know our passion is to share relevant and creative ways to explain what the violet flame is and how to apply it in your life. Our latest blog post is about teamwork. And one word which often comes to mind when we think of teamwork is synergy. Synergy is defined as the combined power of a group of things working together which is greater than the total power achieved by each working separately. Put another way, the adage “The whole is greater than the sum of its parts" expresses the basic meaning of synergy. There are many examples and benefits where synergy is observed including: synchronized rowing, getting the first astronauts to the moon, a husband and wife united in marriage, the founding of a Nation, an Olympic or sports team, and group prayer. Anyone watching the autumn sky has likely seen migrating birds fly in a V formation. Why is this? We know a squadron of planes can save fuel by flying in a V formation. And many scientists have long thought migrating birds benefit from the same dynamic. Now, scientific studies reveal some big-winged birds carefully position their wingtips and sync their flapping in order to catch the preceding bird's updraft—and save energy during flight. These studies further discovered that birds are 20%-30% more energy efficient while flying together in a V formation! Spiritual Teamwork - Helping one another reach the summit... Would you like to be part of a “dream team” to help the world overcome the challenges of disease, poverty, inequality, and war? If so, you now have at your disposal the greatest good ever known to mankind – the gift of the violet flame! A Match Made in Heaven When I was young, I read and heard stories of knights in shining armor, a prince finding his princess, and everyone living happily ever after. Some of us grow up and experience this ideal while others continue the search for the “perfect match”. No matter our circumstance, we should always remember the ideal and help bring it out in one another! Like Attracts Like I heard someone say once – you need to become what you hope to attract. So, let’s say you are looking for someone who is kind, well-informed, and has a positive outlook. Then you can begin by practicing these qualities in your daily life until they naturally become a part of who you are. But I Thought Opposites Attract? Many times, opposites do attract. Sometimes two people are seeking balance and their relationship allows them to learn from an abundance or lack of qualities in each other. For example, one person may speak too loud and often while the other is too timid and doesn’t speak up. These opposites in qualities can sometimes create friction or tension in a relationship. But it is always helpful to remember it is the “irritation” from a grain of sand which causes the oyster to produce a beautiful pearl! How does the violet flame help you find your perfect match or that match made in heaven? The violet flame contains the qualities which help relationships the most – forgiveness, mercy, and kindness to name a few. And when you give the violet flame, it enters your heart and you begin to experience a breakthrough in understanding and a new compassion towards others. And as you begin to send love, forgiveness, and compassion to others you receive these same energies back. So, what goes around really does come around and you can begin to attract what you are becoming! Sound exciting?
