Discovering Spiritual Meaning in the Circle of Life

A grandmother and young grandchild are a generational example of the circle of life

We have lived in rural America for over a year now and have come to love the local auction barn here in town.  It’s a great place to gather for people-watching, sampling the best home-style cooking in the county, and of course, the weekly cattle auctions.

Local farmers and ranchers discussing the weather while gathered around a vintage tractor

One thing we hear at nearly every visit to the auction barn is a discussion among the farmers and ranchers regarding rain and the weather. It’s a subject of great interest and importance among the locals.

One week, you’ll hear that there hasn’t been enough rain so the crops and grasses aren’t getting enough water to grow.  And the next week, you’ll hear it’s rained too much and they can’t get their tractors into the field!

The weather and the amount of rain is vital to the livelihood of farmers and ranchers.  Rain helps the grass grow which in turn feeds the cattle.  This gives the farmers and ranchers a product to bring to market and sell to make a living. The cattle provide food and other essential items we use in our daily lives. Indeed, there is a certain rhythm and flow observed in rural life which helps sustain the circle of life for all of us.

The Circle of Life

DVD cover for the Disney movie The Lion King

The animated film classic The Lion King [1] is one of our favorite movies here at Violet Flame World. It exemplifies the Hero’s Adventure and contains wonderful spiritual teachings and life lessons. Perhaps we will dedicate an entire Blog post to this movie one day!

In the movie, King Mufasa teaches his son Simba a major life lesson about the importance of the Circle of Life. It is explained beautifully in the first 70 seconds of this video excerpt.

In this segment, King Mufasa shares two more important insights with Simba:

Mufasa teaching Simba that everything the light touches is their kingdom

“Everything the light touches is our kingdom”.

"Everything you see exists together in a delicate balance. As king, you need to understand that balance and respect all the creatures, from the crawling ant to the leaping antelope".

Your Causal Body – The Spiritual Circle of Life

Your Causal Body, your spiritual bank account

The spiritual “Circle of Life” seen above is often referred to as your Causal Body. It is your spiritual bank account of sorts and is one of the keys in discovering spiritual meaning in the circle of life.

We can all make “withdrawals” from our Causal Body by calling upon the Light assets stored there. And we can apply these resources in our daily lives to help sustain ourselves and others.

We can make “deposits” into our spiritual bank account too. For example, every good deed, positive thought, and heartfelt prayer adds to our Causal Body, compounding over time. Through these practices, we create real opportunity to grow our Causal Body to immense proportions and deepen our service to others.

Did you know that in some esoteric traditions, the word “king” has a symbolic inner meaning? It can be interpreted as:

K.I.N.G. — Key to the INcarnation of God

Viewed this way, the word “king” becomes more than a title of authority—it represents a principle of divine embodiment or higher consciousness expressed in human form.

Through sustained spiritual growth and practice, you may one day discover you have become a wise and benevolent king, like King Mufasa!

The causal body is many times very close to the newborn infant, recent from heaven.
"While others search for what they can take, a true king searches for what he can give"

With these insights in mind, it’s a perfect time to revisit the Circle of Life from The Lion King. Think about your Causal Body as you reflect upon the words to this song. You may well discover greater spiritual meaning in the Circle of Life!

From the day we arrive on the planet

And, blinking, step into the sun

There's more to see than can ever be seen

More to do than can ever be done

There's far too much to take in here

More to find than can ever be found

But the sun rolling high

Through the sapphire sky

Keeps great and small on the endless round

It's the circle of life

And it moves us all

Through despair and hope

Through faith and love

'Til we find our place

On the path unwinding

In the circle

The circle of life

The Role of the Violet Flame in the Circle of Life

Your tube of light is seen in this picture which explains your spiritual heritage.

Let’s zoom out a bit and see how our Causal Body fits into the bigger spiritual picture. The beautiful image above helps illustrate the circular flow of light and energy between our spiritual and physical world. You can see your earthly self enveloped in the violet flame and surrounded by a cylinder of protective white light.  At the top, is your Causal Body.

Did you know there’s a violet flame mantra or decree you can give daily to reinforce both the white light and violet flame around you?  It’s known as the Tube of Light decree. By giving this decree daily, you can begin to experience personal transformation because it helps consume negative karma (perhaps this was the shadowy place Mufasa described to Simba) while amplifying positive karma.

In time, you may well discover that everything the Light touches is your (inner) kingdom too!

Putting it All to Use

Before introducing the Tube of Light decree, it is helpful to consider the skill of an experienced auctioneer like the ones we see at the auction barn.

Anyone who has watched an auction has likely noticed the remarkable breath control and rapid, controlled delivery of the auctioneer. Beyond speed, a skilled auctioneer communicates with clarity and rhythm—a distinctive “chant” that keeps bidders engaged. At the same time, the auctioneer can sustain a momentum which helps create an atmosphere that encourages participation rather than intimidation.

The cadence and speed of an auctioneer is often key to the success of an auction

Remember the skill and mastery of the auctioneer as you give these introductory and intermediate speed violet flame decrees!

Until next time...

The wisdom of Mufasa seen as an earthly king in both the earth and in the stars.

“… Look at the stars. The great kings of the past look down on us from those stars… so whenever you feel alone just remember that those kings will always be there to guide you.

You have forgotten who you are… look inside yourself… you are more than what you have become. You must take your place in the Circle of Life". [3]
