You may have read or heard the legend of Issac Newton sitting under an apple tree and how he was inspired to develop the law of gravity after an apple fell and hit him on the head. Sometime, these “apples” come our way in life and hit us on the head as a way of getting our attention. Why is this? In physics, the law of gravity can be thought of as an invisible force that pulls objects toward each other. Earth's gravity is what keeps us on the ground and makes things fall. There is also a spiritual law which in one sense keeps us on the ground and can cause us to fall. It is called the law of karma. Karma can be understood as thoughts, feelings, or actions in this or in a previous life which creates the force that pulls us back to earth to resolve things personally or with others. Note: Sometimes, people think of karma only as “bad” – something they did wrong or which was done to them. However, we also have unlimited opportunity to make good karma! More on this in a later blog post. Can we overcome our “bad” karma, break away from gravity and truly be free? The answer is yes! We know a rocket employs fire and great force before breaking free from the Earth’s gravity. Once accomplished, the rocket is free of earthly pull and can begin to navigate the entire universe. As more and more of us begin to understand and put the violet flame into practice to balance karma, we too will be free of the pull of our karma here on earth and ready to live in, explore and experience the entire spiritual universe! Sir Issac Newton made far-reaching contributions in the study of gravity, optics, color, the speed of sound and dedicated much of his time to the study of alchemy. He once said: “Are not rays of light very small bodies emitted from shining substances?” Newton was well ahead of his time and would have been fascinated by the science and the spirituality of the violet flame! Personal protective equipment – it’s a term we hear often these days. Often, when working in a hospital, the doctors and nurses wear protective gowns to treat us. If it’s raining outside or unusually cold, we wear a raincoat or a jacket to protect us. What if I told you there existed a piece of spiritual personal protective equipment you could have around you at all times? Further, what if it didn’t cost anything and was never in short supply? Well, this spiritual personal protective equipment does exist, and it is called the tube of light! Your tube of light is the white light that comes from your I AM Presence when you call for it. It is about nine feet (2.75m) in diameter and extends three feet (.91m) below your feet. Your tube of light, filled with the violet flame, will seal and protect you all day long! Each day, you can say a short mantra or decree to maintain your tube of light around you. As you say these words, imagine a cylinder of light, filled with the violet flame, coming down around you. The Internet – sometimes I can hardly remember life before it - going to the library and searching through books to write a report, looking up a telephone number in the phone book, waiting for the evening news to get a weather report, stopping at a gas station for driving directions, or even writing and mailing a letter! Today, so much in our lives has been transformed by the Internet. Technologically speaking, we are all interconnected as data is sent around the world at the speed of light, stored in the cloud, and immediately accessible. In many ways, the Internet is a metaphor for God and his creation. As you can see from the picture at the beginning of this article, we each have a cord of light connecting us to the one Presence of God. And because we are all interconnected, everything we send out across "cyberspace" in the form of a thought, feeling, or action affects everyone else. This is one reason we want to strive to keep our thoughts and feelings positive and uplifting. And it also shows why giving the violet flame is so powerful. As we begin to transform ourselves through its daily use, we literally assist everyone else to do the same! Many times, I remember staying up late in College studying for a test the next day. Often, I would be quite tired and remember thinking, wouldn’t it be great if I could learn while I sleep? Well, if only I had known! Did you know there are great retreats and cities of light located in the etheric plane (often referred to as the heaven world) around the earth? There are souls evolving and learning there while preparing to embody on Earth. Their hope is to carry the idealism, joy, peace, and beauty of these retreats and cities and recreate them here on Earth. Often, those who are inspired by memories of their experiences in the etheric plane will work here on earth to help bring advances in healing, ideal forms of government, education, art and music, among others. How many times over the years have we seen advertisements for all different kinds of laundry detergents and cleaners? Each one promises to perform better than the rest. And yet, they only clean laundry which is something we will not have to do into the next world (thank goodness). Sometimes, when people begin giving violet flame, they can be a little uncomfortable repeating the affirmations, prayers and mantras out loud. And yet sound is the key. Sound, whatever it may be, is caused by something vibrating. The vibration of sound can create change in the world we live it. For example, it can trigger an avalanche or an opera singer can shatter a glass. Science has shown how certain types of music can have a favorable impact on the growth of plants, the development of children, and even milk production in dairy cows. In the scientific community, quantum physics is beginning to reveal that at the particle level everything is connected ; therefore, the sounds we make, the words we speak, and the mantras we give have an impact on everything and everyone! And finally, scientists have recently discovered and are developing a breakthrough approach in ultrasound to target cancerous tumors. It is called Histotripsy and is ushering in a new era of surgery-free cancer treatment! Perhaps you remember the old adage, "Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never harm me"? Not true! Our positive words can uplift other people or impact them unfavorably when used in anger or through gossip. One of the very best examples we have seen regarding the impact of sound and words is from an episode of the television series Touched By an Angel. In this episode, entitled "Monica's Bad Day", a restaurant owner begins the day by making a rude gesture at Monica. The rude gesture and subsequent unkind words in turn sets off a ripple which negatively impacts everyone in its path. Near the end of the episode, everyone learns that it "didn't have to be that way" and a "do-over" using positive, uplifting words leads to a beautiful conclusion. And in areas of faith, religious practitioners have chanted the OM for hundreds of years or longer. When you chant the OM, you open your spiritual centers or chakras and the sound of creation flows through and raises you to a place of higher consciousness. Like most twentysomethings, I was busy experiencing what the world had to offer and began to have challenges in relationships and other areas of my life, which led to periods of depression. I had always read and thought a lot about many things, and, as a result I had often been an early adopter of technology, alternative health practices, and new trends in general. So when I first heard and read about the violet flame I decided to give it a try. Since I had read that giving fifteen minutes or more of Violet Flame each day was optimal, I made this my goal at home each night. At the time I only knew of one or two mantras so I mostly repeated “ I AM a being of Violet Fire, I AM the purity God desires ” over and over. After two or three weeks of giving the violet flame, I remember thinking fifteen minutes was a very long time to be still and focused, especially after I wasn’t aware of any immediate results. But all that changed one evening. I was giving the mantra and felt my mind begin to wander into worldly things. And at the moment I began to chastise myself for not focusing enough, a magnificent vision of violet flame suddenly appeared in my mind’s eye. It is difficult to describe, as it was more than something that I saw - it was an experience that had depth and understanding. The vision lingered for some time, and I understood that I had experienced the immensity and life-changing power of the violet flame. From that moment on, I knew I would be giving the violet flame for the rest of my life. Years later, I am a completely new and better person who no longer has bouts of depression, is much healthier, and has greater compassion for others. When you give the violet flame, can can it really make the city or place you live glow like this? The answer is yes! How does the violet flame work? The violet flame can change your physical surroundings because it is closest in vibration (i.e. violet light has the shortest wavelength and highest frequency) to the components of matter. Ok, so what you make ask, does the violet flame have to do with a jukebox? It is because a jukebox is an apt metaphor for our lives. For example, all of our thoughts, actions, events, etc. in life (and in past lives if you are inclined to believe in reincarnation) create recorded experiences or “records”. Oftentimes, we play back or experience the not-so-good records over and over until they form deep grooves in our lives. And like a jukebox, the needle of our life can follow the same old grooves, playing the same record over and over again until we are ready to seek a new and improved song. Most of us cannot see our aura but if we could we would likely experience some degree of inspiration and disappointment. The good thoughts, deeds, and feelings we express can give our aura great purity and make it beautiful in color. Conversely, our negative thoughts and feelings can make our aura murky and dark in color. In the Peanuts cartoon by Charles M. Schulz, the character “Pig-Pen” was known for his perpetually filthy overalls and the cloud of dirt and dust that followed him wherever he went. He sometimes referred to the cloud as "the dust of ancient civilizations" and could not seem to rid himself of the dust for more than a brief time despite his best efforts. * Well, what if “Pig-Pen” had known about and begun to give the violet flame? If so, he could have started ridding himself of “the dust of ancient civilizations” (i.e. his past lives) and begun to transform himself into the purity and beauty we are all meant to become! Folks, we won’t be able to hide our thoughts and feelings in the next world so why not start cleaning them up today with the violet flame? Perhaps you remember the song "Age of Aquarius"? It was written and sung over 50 years ago now. Consider a few of the lyrics: When the moon is in the Seventh House And Jupiter aligns with Mars Then peace will guide the planets And love will steer the stars… …Harmony and understanding Sympathy and trust abounding No more falsehoods or derisions Golden living dreams of visions Mystic crystal revelation And the mind's true liberation A skeptic might consider these words and see them only as the hoped-for ideals of a generation – ideals which often never truly materialize.
